Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) Book review

Is it a bad thing if I say that I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed The Mortal Instruments?

Okay that’s a big statement because let’s face it The Mortal Instruments was just a special little something in the book world. But I was simply more intrigued in the storyline of Clockwork Angel than I was in e.g., City of Bones all the way through to City of Heavenly Fire. I thought the characters were more witty and relatable and the world building was more thorough than The Mortal Instruments.

It also started out dark not in the light end. That was what I absolutely loved in reading the book that it just cut out all the fluffy marshmellow and got straight to the dark chocolate with a gooey warm cherry center. I was dying on the inside. I WANTED THIS DARKNESS AND I LIVED FOR IT!

It started off with Tessa Gray a young girl who journeyed to London to meet her brother. When she gets there she discovers he’s not there and two women tell her to come with them as they got asked by him to take her to him. Well you can probably guess in classic Cassandra Clare fashion that these women aren’t all they seem and suddenly Tessa is taken into the world of the shadowhunters where she is torn between two best friends.

Okay so I’m pretty sure there’d be a love triangle but thankfully I wasn’t fed this on a stick and shoved down the throat. and it wasn’t dolloped onto me like sour cream until I puked in my mouth in sourness. But I feel like it would happen eventually. Nevertheless, I think I’m falling in love with this book and I won’t mind if there WASa love triangle because at least I love these two characters, Will and Jem a lot.

All in all, a great read, a great book and can’t wait to read the sequel because I AM LIVING FOR IT!
