Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo Book Review
That ending was so beautiful… and yet… IT WRECKED ME!!!HOW CAN I EVEN PUT IT INTO WORDS!? The feelings that I had for all these characters and how I cared about what happened to Kaz, Inej, Matthias, Wylan, Jesper, Nina and Kuwei? It just shows the magic and the absolute power behind words and how they can make you feel something so strong for the storyline as Leigh Bardugo so brilliantly demonstrated in Crooked Kingdom and the whole Six of Crowsduology overall.
Without giving a lot of spoilers away, Crooked Kingdomcontinues from where Six of Crows ended where Kaz and the rest of his crew are on the run and in hiding from almost the whole city of Ketterdam. They have been betrayed and double crossed and now they are seeking revenge… that will decide the fate of the Grisha world!
It was amazing okay? It was just something special…
This specific book gave more of an insight onto certain characters budding romances and it also introduces a new couple to ship 😉 and boy did I ship them alright especially since Wylan is my favourite character in the whole duology. It also shown a lot of diversity not just in the romances but in terms of culture and the character’s backgrounds. It was a spectacle to read about.
If it was so great then why did I rate it 4 stars?
Well, the thing is I loved the characters and the writing it’s just that I don’t think the whole crime/thriller genre is really my scene. I understand why some people want to squeeze the life out of Kaz Brekker in love and admiration but even though I wanted to love the series with all my heart I just couldn’t just due to personal taste I suppose and also the fact that I speedily got through this and I don’t think I got the best reading experience out of doing this.
So all in all a great book that was so very precious and I liked it a lot but I just didn’t LOVE LOVE it.
