Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2) by Rick Riordan

I just think Percy Jackson is not my cup of tea. I heard so much hype. In fact, TOO MUCH hype from this one and I think I might’ve expected too much to make me rate this a 3 star book. It didn’t have that element that would attract me to a book you know? I don’t think adventure is for me or Greek mythology in general.

So basically it started off with Percy Jackson having nightmares about his friend Grover who seems to be captured by a cyclops and getting married against his will to it. On top of that dilemma is the fact that the whole camps borders are down after Thalia’s tree has been poisoned. To save the tree (and Grover) Annabeth, Percy and Tyson all go on an adventure to the Bermuda Triangle to recover a magical golden fleece which can save the camp and get the borders back.

You’re probably just staring at me like “And all that happened in 265 pages?” and I would tell you yes. I just couldn’t fall in love with it that much. I think maybe it’s because I’m too old for the targeted age group: Middle schoolers. But I don’t know it’s one of those things I can’t but my finger on like I can see why people would like it but I just didn’t and have no idea why.
